By
working out national unified catalogs of specialities,
the Ministry of Education has specified the names of specialities
of vocational education as well as the objectives and
criteria of such education. This has standardized vocational
education and ensured teaching quality.
Catalogs
of specialities differ for different occupations, but
they follow the principles of serving society, a comparative
stability and a fairly big coverage. Some specialities
are set up according to subjects, while others are set
up according to application categories. That is to say,
some specialities are comparatively narrow in scope while
others are broader in scope. Planning for vocational education
specialities is based on state requirements for people
with expertise. Priority is given to specialities that
have a bearing on the national economy and people's livelihood
as well as specialities that serve agriculture and economic
sectors slated for priority development. The compilation
of teaching materials has been planned and coordinated
by the Ministry of Education and organized by |
|
local education authorities
with support from different economic sectors. A big
number of practical teaching materials have been published.
Teaching
activities include experiments, practice, social investigation,
specialized labor and graduation field work, in addition
to classroom teaching sessions. The principle is to
integrate teaching, production practice and the application
of scientific findings and technologies.
